ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL

Movie again. No this isn’t turning into a TV show and movie review site. But you know, it’s difficult to talk about work and all.

Movie’s based on a book, set in high school america, of a girl who suffers from leukemia, and an acquaintance who ends up befriending her. Fairly typical storyline, as you can imagine. The trailer was promising, and the title, and it was well received at Sundance festival. So.

Plot was tad thin. Photography was alright. Bit too much of that effect. What’s that other filmmaker I cannot recall. I wasn’t really captivated until the end. Not that many quotables and bit too silly american high school sometimes. Did not see the purpose of many of the weak elements.

Unlike Boyhood, that was a stunningly beautiful movie that I couldn’t get out of my head.
